Somerset is split into seven Scout Districts, each responsible for Scouting in its area.

Each District has a team of people led by a District Commissioner (DC) and assisted by Assistant District Commissioners (ADC). The DC will also have the advice of a range of activity advisers and helpers.

The individual Districts have their own identity and all the members belonging to a District would wear the District badge on their uniform alongside the County badge.

A District contains a number of Scout Groups who handle the day to day running of the Scout sections.
